Indian embassy holds secret Capitol Hill event to cover up Pahalgam security failure
Washington : The Indian Embassy in Washington organized a closed-door, invite-only event on Capitol Hill to mark the Pahalgam anniversary, barring international media and exposing New Delhi’s fear of independent scrutiny.
According to Kashmir Media Service, titled “The Human Cost of Terrorism,” the event was covered only by the embassy’s press wing and select Indian journalists. US Congress members Brad Sherman, Ro Khanna, Lisa McClain, and Jonathan Jackson attended, parroting Indian scripts while ignoring Pakistan’s decisive victory in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, observers said.
Critics called it a “pathetic PR exercise” to hide India’s intelligence and security failures in Pahalgam. “India resorts to staged events and diaspora echo chambers to maintain false victimhood after its military strategy collapsed,” analysts noted.
The embassy’s move to restrict access proves it is “ashamed of its security failures” and seeks to manufacture sympathy instead of addressing internal incompetence, they added.
