Speakers at seminar highlight importance of truth, national sovereignty & regional stability

Muzaffarabad:The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with the Women’s Alert Forum, organized a thought-provoking seminar “Marka-e-Haq: Truth, Sovereignty, Stability” to highlight the importance of truth, national sovereignty, and regional stability.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar was presided over by Dr Nasir Jamal Khattak, Vice Chancellor of the University of AJK, who emphasized the role of academic institutions in fostering awareness, critical thinking, and national responsibility among the youth.

Among the distinguished speakers were Ibrahim Zia, (Retd) Chief Justice, Dr Talat Shabbir, Director of China Pakistan Study Centre, Dr Rehana Kausar, Director of Student Affairs University of AJK, Samia Sajid, President of Women’s Wing Muslim Conference, AJK, and Advocate Pervaiz Ahmed Shah General Secretary of All Parties Hurriyet Conference.

The speakers shared their valuable insights on the significance of truth in shaping national narratives, the need to safeguard sovereignty in the face of evolving challenges, and the importance of sustainable peace and stability in the region. They highlighted the role of civil society, academia, and leadership in promoting informed dialogue and constructive engagement.

They also stressed the need for collective efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution of the longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions, underscoring dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law as essential pathways toward lasting peace.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers stressed that the youth must be equipped with knowledge and awareness to contribute positively toward national development and to uphold the principles of justice and truth.

The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment from participants to continue efforts aimed at promoting awareness, unity, and a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the region.
