AIMPLB to challenge Madhya Pradesh HC’s decision in Kamal Maula Masjid case in Indian SC

New Delhi:The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has decided to challenge the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision in the Kamal Maula Masjid case in the Indian Supreme Court.

According to Kashmir Media Service, AIMPLB spokesperson Dr Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas in a statement strongly criticized the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s decision, saying this decision is against historical evidence, revenue records and centuries-old Muslim worship ties, while this decision is also in conflict with the law relating to places of worship.

He said the previous position of the Archaeological Department also recognizes the common religious identity of the place and for many decades this place was considered as Bhojshala. It was called Kamal Maula Masjid, which was an official acceptance of its controversial and communal religious character.

He said that the Muslim side had argued in the court that the building was permanently listed as a mosque in the historical revenue records, and that there was no evidence to prove that a Saraswati temple of Raja Bhoj’s era was located at the same place, but the court did not give any importance to this position.

The spokesperson said the Muslim Personal Law Board supports the announcement of the Kamal Maula Mosque Committee that it will challenge the biased decision of the High Court in the Supreme Court and the Board will provide all possible assistance to the Mosque Committee in this regard.
