IIOJK: Massive forest fire erupts along Mughal Road in Poonch

Jammu: A massive forest fire broke out in the upper reaches of Poonch district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, triggering concern among commuters and residents in the area.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the blaze erupted along the Mughal Road, damaging forest areas and sending thick plumes of smoke billowing near the historic route that connects Poonch district in Jammu region with Shopian district in the Kashmir Valley.
The sudden spread of flames caused panic among travellers passing through the area, though officials confirmed that no casualties or major disruption to traffic were reported.
Teams of the forest department remained engaged for several hours in controlling the fire, while local villagers also joined the efforts to prevent the flames from spreading further into adjoining forest areas.
Authorities have urged residents and travellers to remain cautious while moving through forested areas.
