JKSA backs India-Pakistan dialogue; says diplomacy key to regional stability

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has expressed strong support for the resumption of constructive India-Pakistan dialogue, emphasizing that lasting peace and regional stability can only be achieved through sustained diplomatic engagement.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the JKSA in a statement issued in Srinagar highlighted that dialogue remains essential for reducing tensions and preventing conflict.
It said the profound human, social, and economic toll decades of conflict have taken on the people of Jammu and Kashmir and stressed that escalations between India and Pakistan disrupt education, livelihoods, trade, tourism, and development. It also urged sincere efforts to promote peace and foster an environment conducive to growth.
The JKSA said the Indian and Pakistani governments should revive bilateral talks, rebuild communication channels, and strengthen confidence-building initiatives.
It emphasized that dialogue is a sign of political maturity and confidence, not weakness, and that even countries that once fought devastating wars have found ways to reconcile through sustained negotiation and political courage.
Highlighting the regional importance, the Association noted that stable relations among South Asian nations like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are vital for unlocking the region’s economic and developmental potential. It called for regional cooperation in areas like trade, connectivity, education, and climate resilience, emphasizing that shared progress depends on moving beyond colonial legacies and geopolitical tensions.
The JKSA reiterated that terrorism and extremism have no place in democratic societies and must be confronted with firmness, while diplomatic engagement should fully respect India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
