NIA court indicts 10 Kashmiris in fake case
Confiscation of properties of others involved in case begins

Srinagar: A special court of the notorious Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has indicted 10 Kashmiris in a fake case.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the case is being investigated by the State Investigation Agency (SIA).
The SIA had registered this fake case against a total of sixteen Kashmiris in 2022. Ten of them namely Rubina Nazir Malik, Ashfaq Ahmed Mir, Mudassar Ahmed Paswal, Mahfooz Ahmed Mughal, Muhammad Rashid Thakar, Muhammad Riaz Lohar, Javed Iqbal Thakar, Abdul Rashid Mir, Abdul Rashid Butt and Basharat Ali Paswal.
An indictment has been filed against these ten and now the trial has officially begun against them.
The other accused include Saghir Ahmed Paswal, Tariq Ahmed Malik, Alifuddin Badana, Mushtaq Ahmed Naik, Firdous Ahmed Dar and Mushtaq Ahmed Malik. The first five of them are said to be absconding, while the last one, Mushtaq Ahmed Dar, was martyred by Indian forces during an operation. The Indian investigation agency has started the process of confiscating the properties of the absconding accused.
The “SIA” has framed traditional charges against all these people such as being involved in drug trafficking, spending the proceeds from this on promoting the Kashmir freedom movement, waging war against India, and financially supporting militant organizations.
Implicating freedom-loving Kashmiris in various baseless cases and putting them behind bars for years is a long-standing tactic of India, aimed at intimidating and terrorizing them into distancing themselves from the freedom movement.
India currently has more than 3,000 Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leaders and activists, in various jails and detention centers in India and in occupied Jammu and Kashmir on various false charges.
