Kashmiris to continue struggle for implementing July 19 resolution: Speakers
Lahore: On the occasion of the “Accession to Pakistan Resolution Day”, a rally was organized in front of the Press Club, Lahore, under the auspices of Kashmir Center, Lahore.
According to Kashmir Media Service, leaders and workers of various political and social parties, and a large number of representatives of the Kashmiri community participated in the rally.
Former Advisor to the AJK President and Central Vice President of PML-N Syed Naseebullah Gurdezi, senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Ghulam Abbas Mir, Inam-ul-Hassan, APHC-AJK chapter leader Engineer Mushtaq Mahmood, leader of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party Bilal Butt, religious leader Allama Fida-ur-Rehman Haideri, Alami Maqsood Chughtai, social leader Mushtaq, General Secretary of PML-N, Lahore Division, Mirza Farooq, prominent writers Nazar Bhandar, Nazir Mir, Nisar Beg and others addressed the rally.
The speakers said today, Pakistan Accession Day, is a day of renewal of the unwavering ideological and historical ties of the Kashmiri people with Pakistan. They said Kashmiris, living on both sides of the Line of Control and around the world, are celebrating Pakistan Accession Day with traditional enthusiasm and a renewal of the pledge that the struggle for freedom of occupied Jammu and Kashmir will continue until complete independence from Indian rule and accession to Pakistan.
The speakers said on July 19, 1947, almost a month before the formation of Pakistan, the resolution of accession to Pakistan was unanimously passed in a historic meeting of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference at the residence of Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan in Srinagar.
The Kashmiri leadership, they said, keeping in mind the delicate political situation and public aspirations of the time, had taken the historic decision to associate the future of the state of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan on geographical, religious and cultural grounds.
The speakers further said that the international community, the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation should take notice of the illegal Indian actions of August 5, 2019, attempts to change the demographic ratio and serious human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play their role in ensuring the legitimate right of self-determination to the Kashmiris.
They said that the Kashmiri people are reiterating their resolve that the oppression and repression of the Indian army and the decades-long usurping occupation could not shake their spirit of freedom, and they are continuing their peaceful political and diplomatic struggle to implement this historic Srinagar resolution.
