Indian forces arrest at least 3,000 Kashmiri youth in sweeping IIOJK crackdown
Restrictions further tightened across Kashmir Valley
Srinagar : Indian forces have intensified cordon and search operations (CASOs) and house raids across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), arresting at least 3,000 innocent Kashmiri youth in a massive crackdown across the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian troops and police have stepped up raids, search operations and restrictions in several areas, including Islamabad, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Budgam, Sopore, Kupwara, Bandipora, Awantipora, Handwara and other parts of the occupied territory. During the ongoing operations, at least 3,000 Kashmiri youth have been taken into custody.
The occupation authorities have further tightened restrictions across the Kashmir Valley by deploying additional troops at sensitive locations, setting up more checkpoints and erecting extra. Indian forces have intensified frisking and searches of vehicles, passengers and pedestrians at various places.
Senior Indian police officials confirmed the detention of at least 3,000 youth, stating that the campaign of raids, restrictions and arrests would continue.
The latest crackdown followed an attack in Islamabad town on Wednesday in which an Indian policeman was killed. Following the incident, Indian forces launched large-scale search operations and intensified repressive measures against the civilian population across the occupied territory.
