JKPL pays tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz on martyrdom anniversary

Islamabad: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) said Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz’s sacrifices constitute a glorious chapter of the Kashmir freedom movement.

According to Kashmir Media Service, JKPL on the 18th martyrdom anniversary of Sheikh Abdul Aziz, paying rich tributes to the martyred leader said the leader was, steadfastness and supreme sacrifice are a guiding light for the Kashmiri nation.

The statements were issued by Jammu Peoples League leader, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, YML Zahid Ashraf and Dr. Museeb .They said Sheikh Abdul Aziz dedicated his entire life to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and the freedom movement. They said the martyred leader played an unforgettable role in raising the voice of the Kashmiri people against Indian occupation and in strengthening the freedom movement.

The statement said that the sacrifices of martyrs never go in vain as they give new strength and direction to a nation’s struggle for freedom. He said the determination and courage with which Sheikh Abdul Aziz offered his life for the freedom movement will always be remembered in the history of Kashmir.

Other Hurriyat leaders also said that the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are still struggling to achieve their fundamental right to self-determination. They said it is the responsibility of the international community to play its role for a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the promises made to the Kashmiri people and the United Nations resolutions.

The leaders reiterated their resolve that the best tribute to Sheikh Abdul Aziz and other Kashmiri martyrs is to further strengthen the political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmir freedom movement. They prayed to Almighty Allah to elevate the ranks of the martyr and grant the Kashmiri people freedom.
