Tribute paid to freedom activist Haroon Abbas on martyrdom anniversary

Islamabad: A grand tribute was paid to renowned mujahid commander and freedom activist Engineer Haroon Abbas Wani on the sixth anniversary of his martyrdom during a prayer ceremony in Islamabad. Participants hailed the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs, saying their dedication will one day bear fruit.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Engineer Haroon Abbas was martyred by Indian forces on January 15, 2020, during a cordon and search operation in Gandenah, Doda district, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The prayer ceremony was organized by Pasban Jammu and Kashmir.
Speakers at the ceremony paid heartfelt homage to Engineer Haroon Abbas Wani, noting that his contributions to the freedom movement will always be remembered. They emphasized that the brave people of Kashmir will never let the sacrifices of Haroon Abbas and other Kashmiri martyrs go in vain and vowed to continue the struggle for freedom from illegal Indian occupation until the goal is achieved.
Tributes were also paid to renowned mujahid commanders Ghulam Rasool Dar, Abbas Rahi, and Abid Trali, who were martyred by Indian forces on this day 22 years ago.
Participants at the ceremony included Abdul Rashid Butt, Muhammad Owais Bilal, Khalid Shabbir, Qazi Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Saleem, Zahir Ejaz, Shahid Afridi, Imtiaz Ahmad Butt, Syed Faizan Farooq, Hafiz Inamullah Dar, and Manzoor Ahmad.
