APHC-AJK honours September 1965 martyrs, reaffirms solidarity with Pakistan
Slams Indian atrocities in IIOJK, calls for int’l efforts to resolve Kashmir dispute

Islamabad : The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has paid glowing tribute to the martyrs of September 1965, describing Pakistan Defence Day as a glorious chapter in the nation’s history reflecting its resolve, unity, courage and bravery.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK organized a seminar in Islamabad in connection with Defence and Martyrs’ Day. The seminar was chaired by senior Hurriyat leader and former APHC Convener Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and attended by Hurriyat leaders, political and social figures and people from different walks of life.
Addressing the seminar, Hurriyat leaders said September 6 was a memorable day in Pakistan’s history, when the nation demonstrated exemplary courage and unity to thwart the enemy’s sudden attack and nefarious designs. They said the Pakistani nation and armed forces stood like an iron wall in defence of the country, while those who laid down their lives set a great example of sacrifice for the defence of the motherland.
They said the sacrifices of the September martyrs were a beacon of guidance for the nation and would always be remembered. The participants paid tribute to the services and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in safeguarding the country’s ideological and geographical frontiers.
The speakers strongly condemned gross human rights violations, killings of innocent Kashmiris, arrests and other forms of repression by Indian troops in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They said India could never suppress the Kashmiris’ spirit of freedom through state terrorism and the brutal use of force.

The participants said the Kashmiri people had been rendering immense sacrifices for decades to secure their right to self-determination. They said the international community had a responsibility to take notice of the ongoing Indian atrocities against Kashmiris and play its role in ensuring a just settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
The speakers said lasting peace, stability and prosperity in South Asia were linked to a just and durable settlement of the Kashmir dispute. They urged the international community to exert pressure on India to resolve the dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Those who addressed the seminar included Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Syed Yusuf Naseem, Mir Tahir Masood, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Sanaullah Dar, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Ghulam Nabi Butt, Engineer Mushtaq Mahmood, Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Daud Khan Yousafzai, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Syed Gulshan, Shaukat Hussain Butt, Afsar Khan, Zahid Ashraf and Imtiaz Wani.
Hurriyat leaders Nisar Mirza, Javed Iqbal Butt, Raja Khadim Hussain, Haji Sultan Butt, Zahid Ashraf, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Nazir Ahmad Karnai, Abdul Majeed, Mian Muzaffar, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Rais Ahmad Mir, Imtiaz Butt and Taseen Farooq Rehmani also attended the seminar.
The seminar concluded with prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs of September 1965 and the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir.
