Family in pain after unknown persons damage apple crop in Shopian


Srinagar: A family in Killora area of Shopian district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been left distressed after unknown persons damaged its apple crop during the night, causing significant financial loss and affecting the family’s livelihood.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place in the highly militarised region, where apple cultivation is an important source of income for local families.

Locals said that such acts are aimed at weakening Kashmiris’ economic livelihood and adding to the hardships and harassment faced by the people. They also said that forces’ personnel and people associated with the Hindutva BJP/RSS ideology are involved in such incidents.

The family has expressed deep anguish over the damage to its crop and the resulting loss of income.
