Politician along with associate gunned down in BJP-ruled Haryana
New Delhi: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Haryana president and two-time MLA Nafe Singh Rathi (66) and his associate were shot in Hindutva BJP ruled Haryana state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Nafe Singh Rathee, the Haryana chief of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), and his associate, identified as Jai Kishan were gunned down in broad daylight by unidentified car-borne assailants near Barahi level crossing in Bahadurgarh town of the state.
The deceased party leader, Abhay Chautala said that the state government failed to provide Rathee with security despite there being a threat to his life. Chautala also demanded the resignation of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Home Minister Anil Vij.
Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda reacted to the news of Nafe Singh Rathee’s shooting and said it reflects the law and order situation in the state.
Former Congress MP Kumari Selja also mourned Rathee’s death and said, “BJP has created a jungle raj in the state.”
AAP Haryana Vice President Anurag Dhanda slammed the BJP government and said the law and order in the state has been “completely ruined”. He said he was shocked by the news of Rathee’s shooting and added, “You can imagine what will be the condition of the common man.”
