BJP alleges ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ chants at Congress celebration in Karnatka
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that Congress workers chanted “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans following the victory of one of Congress leaders in the Rajya Sabha elections in Karnataka state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the BJP accused Congress workers of chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” during the jubilation after Congress leader Naseer Hussain’s victory in the elections. However, the Congress has vehemently denied the allegation.
The BJP’s allegation surfaced shortly after Hussain’s win, where the Congress secured three out of four Rajya Sabha seats in Karnataka.
Amit Malviya, head of the BJP’s IT cell, circulated a video purportedly showing Congress workers chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” during the celebration. The BJP argues that such slogans indicate a concerning obsession of the Congress with Pakistan, which it believes could threaten India’s unity.
However, Congress leader Naseer Hussain rebutted the BJP’s claims, asserting that the slogans raised were in support of him and the party, not in favor of Pakistan. He expressed ignorance of any such chants.
Adding to the rebuttal, the National President of Indian Youth Congress, Srinivas BV, clarified that the chants captured in the video were actually in support of Naseer Hussain, not Pakistan. He accused the BJP of deliberately misinterpreting the slogans to create confusion and discredit the Congress.
