DFP condemns worsening human rights situation in IIOJK
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has raised concerns over the escalating human rights violation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, DFP spokesperson Advocate Arshad Iqbal expressed grave concern over the increasing harassment of Hurriyat leaders and their families, the termination of Kashmiri employees, and the confiscation of civilians’ properties by Indian occupation authorities.
Highlighting the intensified brutalities by the Narendra Modi-led Indian government, Iqbal emphasized the use of draconian laws by Indian troops to unleash a reign of terror in the occupied territory. He pointed out that innocent civilians are being subjected to harassment and humiliation during cordon and search operations, while extra-judicial killings and enforced disappearances continue unchecked.
Iqbal called on international human rights organizations to intervene and address the situation, urging the international community to play a significant role in resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute. He emphasized that the collective cause of freedom from India remains steadfast, despite the intimidation tactics employed by the authorities.
The DFP spokesperson also denounced the continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders, human rights defenders, journalists, and civil society activists, urging for their immediate release.
