AAP holds day-long ‘mass fast’ to protest Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has held a day-long ‘Samuhik Upwas’ [mass] protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the party will organize the mass event across 25 Indian states, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Toronto, Melbourne, and London. AAP leader Sanjay Singh, who was released on bail on April 4 following his arrest in the Delhi liquor police case, defended Kejriwal and accused the BJP of liquor scam.
Singh claimed that the ED and Central Bureau of Investigation’s chargsheet into the case has 50,000 pages and 456 witnesses, but only four have taken the name of Kejriwal. He named the four witnesses as Sharath Reddy, Maguntha Reddy, Raghav Reddy, and C Arvind. Delhi Minister Atishi also defended Kejriwal and accused the BJP of liquor scam.
The AAP is also holding a counter-protest in Delhi, dubbed “Sharab se sheesh Mahal,” against the AAP.
