BJP worker, associates arrested for carrying Rs 4 crore in bags
Chennai: Three people, including a BJP worker, were detained in Chennai for carrying Rs 4 crore in cash in six bags.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the accused, Sathish, a BJP member and hotel manager, his brother Naveen, and a driver, Perumal, were detained at Tambaram railway station.
Satish confessed to acting on instructions of the Tirunelveli BJP MP candidate’s team. The seized cash has been sent to the Income Tax Department for further investigation. The development comes days before Tamil Nadu’s upcoming single-phase election on April 19.
