‘India’s map will change’: Indian finance minister’s husband Prabhakar cautions against Modi’s re-election
New Delhi: Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s husband Parakala Prabhakar has said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes back to power after winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, ‘India’s map will change’.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Prabhakar, who is a renowned economist and staunch critic of the BJP government, in a recent media interview, said that in the event Prime Minister and BJP leader Narendra Modi is re-elected in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, “a situation like Ladakh-Manipur will arise in the entire country.”
Prabhakar articulated concerns regarding the centralization of power and the erosion of democratic principles within the ruling BJP. He highlighted the dominance of a singular leadership narrative under Modi’s stewardship, expressing apprehensions about the implications of perpetuating such a trend for the country’s democratic fabric.
