IIOJK to celebrate Eid with Pakistan on Wednesday
Srinagar: In Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Eid-ul-Fitr was announced through mosque loudspeakers after the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee in Pakistan announced the sighting of Shawwal moon.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Ulemas and Mufti Azam in IIOJK Nasirul Islam announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday,April 10 as the Shawwal moon was sighted. Ramadan this year completes its 29-day period.
This tradition of celebrating Eid alongside Pakistan reflects the deep cultural and religious ties between the people of IIOJK and Pakistan.
Residents of IIOJK observe Ramadan and Eid in sync with Pakistan, viewing Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of the country. This shared observance transcends geographical proximity, highlighting the strong cultural and religious bonds that bind Kashmiris and Pakistanis.
Regardless of any official announcements from India, the Pakistani declaration holds greater significance for Kashmiris. This practice has been observed since Pakistan’s independence in 1947 and remains a constant, underscoring the deep-rooted connection between the two regions.
