As against India, IIOJK celebrating Eid with Pakistan today
Srinagar: Muslims in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr with Pakistan today as against India, where Muslims will celebrate the festival, tomorrow.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ulemas including Mufti Azam Nasirul Islam announced the observance of Eid-ul-Fitr across occupied Jammu and Kashmir shortly after the announcement about sighting of the Shawwal moon was made by the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Pakistan, on Tuesday night.
This tradition of celebrating Eid alongside Pakistan reflects the deep cultural and religious ties between the people of IIOJK and Pakistan. Residents of IIOJK observe Ramadan and Eid in sync with Pakistan, viewing Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of the country.
This shared observance transcends geographical proximity, highlighting the strong cultural and religious bonds that bind Kashmiris and Pakistanis.
Despite the official announcement from India about observing Eid on Thursday, the Pakistani declaration holds greater significance for Kashmiris. This practice has been observed since Pakistan’s independence in 1947 and remains constant, underscoring the deep-rooted connection between the two regions.
