Civil society members say Kashmiris are celebrating Eid under shadow of Indian guns

Srinagar: Civil society members have expressed that, on this Eid, they and victim families are missing loved ones of all ages who are facing illegal detentions in jails both inside and outside of IIOJK without any charges.
According to Kashmir Media Service, on Eid ul Fitr, they highlighted the atrocities and property confiscations endured by peace-loving Kashmiris living inside and outside the territory, stating that such brutal acts have become symbols of state terror against the Kashmiri people.
In a joint statement in Srinagar, civil society members including Dr. Zubair Ahmed, Muhammad Furhan, Muhammad Iqbal Shaheen, and Syed Haider Hussain, emphasized that Kashmiris have endured various atrocities, from mass imprisonment to unaccounted killings. Despite these challenges, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have faced them with silent dignity and fortitude, without compromising on their aspirations.
They noted that Kashmiris, while celebrating Eid under unrelenting Indian oppression and continued occupation, highlighted that the unresolved Kashmir dispute under Indian illegal occupation only adds to their miseries. For over seven decades, suppressed people have celebrated Eid under the shadows of Indian guns.
They condemned the denial of Kashmiri Muslims’ right to worship as another illustration of the ongoing assault on religious freedoms in IIOJK by the BJP regime.
They emphasized that Kashmiris are making it known through their heroic struggle that there is no Eid for them without freedom from the Indian yoke.
They pledged to continue their peaceful struggle through all democratic and peaceful means for the right to self-determination.
