Muslims, other minorities face constant extremism under Modi
New Delhi: In India, Muslims and other minorities have been facing constant extremism and hatred for the past several years under the Modi regime.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the activities and hateful statements of the Modi government against the minorities, especially the Muslims, clearly show that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is a Hindu extremist party.
An Al Jazeera report on BJP and Narendra Modi’s anti-Muslim narrative to win the Lok Sabha elections has said that the Modi government is promoting extremism in a campaign to target Muslims in India.
Narendra Modi’s anti-Muslim thinking is fueling ongoing violent and hateful incidents against minorities in India.
Representing the opposition and civil society, around 20,000 citizens filed petitions in the Election Commission of India to take action against the allegations of hate speeches by the Modi government.
A letter has also been written, but the Election Commission has not taken any action on it. Indian writer Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay, speaking to Al Jazeera, said that BJP and Narendra Modi have badly destroyed democracy in India.
Congress Party Member of Parliament Pramod Tiwari said Modi has defamed the dignity of the post of Prime Minister.
