US believes in supremacy of human rights, stands with Kashmir cause: Terry Meza
Texas: In a show of support for the Kashmiri people, Terry Meza, a member of the Texas House of Representatives, has reiterated the United States’ commitment to upholding human rights and advocating for peace and democracy worldwide.
Addressing a Kashmir conference organized by Friends of Kashmir International (FoKI) in Texas, Meza stated, “We stand with the oppressed against the oppressor, and soon a resolution will be presented in the Texas House to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.”
The conference, attended by prominent figures including Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone, social activist Abdul Hafeez Khan, and chairperson of FoKI Ghazala Habib, emphasized the need for international intervention to resolve the Kashmir issue.
Lone highlighted the Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination and their resistance against Indian aggression, while Khan urged the US to play a mediating role in resolving the conflict. Habib reiterated the Kashmiri diaspora’s commitment to exposing Indian atrocities worldwide.
The event also featured poetry recitals by Dr. Amir Sulaiman, Nader Durrani, and Ghazala Habib, and Texas plaques were presented to Abdul Hameed Lone, Ghazala Habib, and social leader Ashraf Bashir.
In conclusion, Maulana Muhammad Aseel Khan prayed for peace in the Islamic world and freedom for Jammu and Kashmir.
