Indian forces using Myanmar militants for proxy war in Manipur: NSCN
Dimapur, India: The NSCN (IM) has said that the Indian government is setting the Indian forces to go for proxy war against the Naga army by using the Kuki National Army (Burma) KNA (B) along with the Myanmar-based People’s Defence Force (PDF).
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a press statement issued on Thursday, the NSCN (IM) said the Assam Rifles and para-regiment of the Indian security forces are openly colluding with Kuki militant groups against the NSCN (IM), creating a “war-like scenario” in the border areas of India and Myanmar.
The group said that no such “war mongering situation” has been witnessed in recent history, despite the area being prone to infiltration by different militant groups.
“As usual, the KNA/KNA (B) is in denial mode trying to show a different picture far from having any link with the ubiquitous AR and para-troopers. Ground reality however speaks louder than anything else.
“Needless to say, KNA (B) is given unrestrained access to the border crossing point to Myanmar and allowed them to come out anytime. Others are strictly forbidden,” the NSCN (IM) added.
The NSCN (IM) also maintained that it had kept its hands clean by not involving in the conflict between the Meiteis and Kuki-Zo in Manipur, as it was in talks with the GoI to solve the Naga political issue through the negotiating table.
The group lambasted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for “spitting venom with bewildering allegations” that the NSCN (IM) was fuelling the Meitei-Kuki-Zo ethnic conflict by way of helping the Meitei revolutionary groups against the Kuki militants.
It reminded me that Indian Home Minister Amit Shah had specifically stated that illegal immigrants from Myanmar were responsible for the ethnic conflagration in Manipur, and to check the illegal immigrants, the Home minister initiated the scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and also to fence the Indo-Myanmar border.
However, contrary to the central government’s decision, the NIA along with AR and para regiment are working hand in glove with the Kuki militant groups, it alleged.
The NSCN (IM) also claimed that there is a strong nexus between the Indian forces, KNA (B) and PDF with all the “scheming materials” provided by the Indian security forces.
