VHP expresses displeasure over Maharashtra govt’s 10 crore grant to Waqf Board
Mumbai: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has expressed its displeasure over the Maharashtra government’s decision to provide Rs 10 crore fund to the Waqf Board.
According to Kashmir Media Service, VHP’s Maharashtra Goa state general secretary Govind Shinde said the VHP leaders will soon meet the Governor and the Chief Minister in this regard. If things still don’t work out, the VHP will hit the streets and protest against the state government.
VHP leader Govind Shinde said this decision of the state government is very regrettable and if the government carrying forward the legacy of Hindutva is going to take such action, then the question arises before the public whether they can be called the heirs of Hindutva?
He said that the formation of the Waqf Board itself is illegal. The Congress had established the Waqf Board based on the policy of appeasement of Muslims. Even now the Maharashtra government has given Rs 10 crore to the Waqf Board to appease the Muslims. How long will the Hindu society bear all this?
Accusing the government, the VHP said that the government confiscates Hindu temples and misuses the money there and gives the money to the Waqf Board. When the Hindu community demands the release of the Hindu temple, it is also ignored.
