Solidarity rally in UK calls for end to occupation of Palestine, Kashmir

London: In a show of solidarity, pro-Palestine and pro-Kashmir protesters united in Birmingham, UK, to demand justice and freedom for the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally, organized by Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK and Palestine Solidarity Campaign, saw participants march through the streets to raise awareness about the ongoing military occupation of Palestine and Kashmir. The event highlighted the growing solidarity between pro-Palestine and pro-Kashmir activists, and the collective demand for justice and freedom in the face of occupation.

Fahim Kayani, a Kashmiri diaspora leader, addressed the crowd, emphasizing the shared struggles of the two territories. “From Kashmir to Palestine, occupation is a crime,” he declared. “It’s time for us to join forces and fight together.”

Other speakers echoed Kayani’s sentiments, calling for an end to the occupation and urging the international community to uphold international law and impose sanctions on Israel and India.

“Given what is happening in Gaza and in Kashmir, the UK government must cease supplying arms to Israel and India,” said Kayani.

Kayani criticized the international community for failing to implement a ceasefire in Gaza and supplying arms to Israel and India, despite the ongoing atrocities. “How many more Palestinians must die before the Western nations wake up from their slumber?” he asked, warning that their inaction would come back to haunt them.

The protest was supported by Stop the War Coalition and Birmingham Trade Union, and featured a diverse range of speakers and participants. John Rees, Salma Yaqoob, Martin Hoare, Dr. Marwan Darweish, Revd Toby, Crowe Vicar, Muhammad Ghalib, Khawajah Muhammad Suleman, Naeem Malik were amongst the participants.
