Youth shot dead, CRPF bus set ablaze in Manipur
Imphal: Unidentified assailants killed a youth while a bus carrying Indian paramilitary personnel was stopped and set ablaze by a mob in violence-hit Manipur state
According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth was gunned down in Imphal West district while the bus carrying ICentral Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was torched in Kangpokpi district.
No one was injured in the bus incident, Indian police officials said.
A police official said that the youth’s body was found in the Meijao Mamang Leikai area with a bullet wound on the back of the head. The police are investigation the incident.
In the second incident, the CRPF bus was proceeding towards the Kangpokpi police station when it was stopped by a mob of around 200 people at the Kangpokpi bazaar. The mob allowed the CRPF personnel to disembark before setting the bus on fire, the officials said, adding a case has been registered and an investigation in underway.
