Kashmiris will continue their freedom struggle at all costs: Safi
Karachi: The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, has said that Kashmiris will continue their freedom struggle at all costs.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Mohammad Safi along with other Hurriyat leaders addressing a press conference in Karachi said the great sacrifice of Burhan Muzaffar Wani is a torch for the Kashmiris. He said Kashmiris are not tired and they are continuing their freedom movement with full determination and courage.
He said the sacrifices made for achieving the right to self-determination will not go waste and the peopel of Kashmir will definitely succeed in their struggle.
In the press conference, APHC-General Secretary Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed, Raja Shaheen, Imtiaz Wani and other leaders were also present.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi said that Burhan Muzaffar Wani was the commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, a freedom movement in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He was martyred in July 2016. He said after his martyrdom, the longest protests in the history of Kashmir’s resistance began.
He said India should understand the fact that history cannot be distorted. Burhan Wani’s martyrdom has also exposed the Indian propaganda that Kashmir’s freedom movement is under the influence of foreign interference, he added. He said India still has time to recognize the right to self-determination of Kashmiris as per the United Nations resolutions.
The Hurriyat leader said the international community also has a moral responsibility to force India to respect these resolutions. He said on the completion of eight years of the martyrdom of Burhan Wani, the Kashmiris living abroad and in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Azad Kashmir and Pakistan will reiterate their pledge to continue the mission of martyrs through various seminars, conferences, rallies and demonstrations and will pay tribute to Burhan Wani and other martyrs of Kashmir movement.
