Kashmir Conference held in Manchester to mark Youm-e-Istehsal
London: The Jammu Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) hosted a significant Kashmir Conference at the Pakistani Community Centre in Manchester, UK, to commemorate Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event drew a distinguished gathering of British government ministers, community leaders, and representatives from various organizations. The conference highlighted the critical role of the diaspora in supporting the Kashmiri cause and demonstrated the global commitment to resolving the Kashmir conflict. The event also emphasized the need for international attention to the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the importance of advocating for the rights and self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
The conference, led by JKSDMI’s Founding Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain, featured notable attendees including British Government Ministers, including Andrew Gwynne MP, Andrew Western MP, Dr. Afzal Khan MP CBE, Jeff Smith MP, and David Williams MP. The Consul General of Pakistan in Manchester, Tariq Wazeer, and Former Lord Mayor Councillor Yasmine Dar, Chair of the International Lobby on Kashmir, also attended the event.
Other notable guests included Former Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent Majid Khan, President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf UK Malik Imran Khalil, Pakistan Federation of Journalists Unions’ Mohammad Afzal Butt, and former Nazam Jhelum Chaudhary Zumared Yaqoob. The event also saw contributions from Syed Azhar Hussain Shah, President of Sath Sath Group of Greater Manchester, Former Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor Abid Latif Chohan, Former Mayor of Burnley Raja Arif Khan, and Patron of All Jammu & Kashmir Muslim Conference UK Chaudhary Mohammad Bashir Ratvi.
Councillors Alison Gwynne, Waseem Akbar, Suzanne Richardson, and Waseem Hassan, along with Farzana Afzal, Mavish Javed, Kiran Khan, and Ahisha Aslam Advocate, were also in attendance.
