IIOJK: Agha Ruhullah demands apology from Kejriwal for backing August 2019 actions
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior National Conference leader and Member of Indian Parliament Agha Ruhullah Mehdi has called on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal to apologize to the people of the territory for his previous support of the Modi government’s illegal actions in August 2019.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ruhullah’s comments came in response to Kejriwal’s suggestion that the Chief Minister-designate of IIOJK, Omar Abdullah, consult him if he faces challenges in governing what Kejriwal referred to as a “half-state.” It is important to note that Kejriwal has previously backed the Modi regime’s decision to revoke occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
“He is part of the INDIA bloc, and while I don’t wish to say much, I must remind him that Jammu and Kashmir is suffering. Before advising us on governance, he should reflect on his past actions and offer an apology to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Only then will we be able to respect his role in the alliance,” Ruhullah stated in a media interview.
He expressed hope that Kejriwal has recognized the gravity of his mistake regarding the decisions made in August 2019. Ruhullah also conveyed his expectation that Kejriwal would remain committed to empowering the people of IIOJK.
