Seminar on ‘Kashmir Dispute: An International Relations Perspective’ held at Barani University

Rawalpindi: The International Dialogue and Development for Democracy Society (IDDDs) in collaboration with Barani University organized a thought-provoking seminar titled “Kashmir Dispute: An International Relations Perspective.”

Accoridng to Kashmir Media Service, the event aimed at MPhil and PhD students featured prominent speakers, including Professor Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Vice Chancellor of Pir Mehar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University (PMAS-ARID), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Babar, Dean of Sciences, Dr. Anayat Khan, Dean of Computer Science, and Dr. Waleed Rasool, who served as the guest of honor.

The speakers emphasized the critical role of youth in ensuring national security and sovereignty, highlighting that it is not solely the responsibility of armed forces and agencies. They urged young people to be vigilant and aware of external influences that could sow division and propagate hatred. Educated youth, they argued, have the ability to discern truth from propaganda, emphasizing the importance of critical thinking in understanding complex issues like Kashmir.

Another focal point was the framing and priming of narratives by Indian media, supported by various lobbying groups. The speakers warned that the Indian-Jew nexus poses a significant threat, underscoring the necessity for scholars and students to comprehend these dynamics. They emphasized that Kashmir’s status remains a crucial international issue and that India’s objective is to detach Pakistan from the Kashmir dispute, potentially sidelining it from UN discussions.

The event concluded with a call for unity among Pakistanis, stressing that the struggle for Kashmir is not just a regional issue but a matter of national identity. The speakers reminded attendees that the collective identity of Pakistanis, transcending regional affiliations, remains a powerful tool in the fight for justice and recognition on the international stage.
