Mushaal warns of RSS-led cultural genocide against Kashmiris
Islamabad: Mushaal Hussein Malik, wife of incarcerated Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, and Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization, raised alarm over the Indian government’s ongoing attempts to crush Kashmiri culture in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mushaal Malik made these remarks today during an event organized by the International Regional Studies (IRS) Islamabad titled ‘Leveraging Pakistan’s Cultural Diversity to Foster Peace Within and Without’.
Mushaal Malik emphasized that the assault on Kashmir’s cultural fabric was a reminder of India’s relentless efforts to oppress the Kashmiri people and described it as part of a broader cultural war aimed at erasing the unique identity of the people.
She urged the international community, especially UN bodies, to take notice of the RSS-led cultural genocide in Kashmir, which is aimed to impose a homogeneous Hindu culture on the occupied territory. She highlighted the suppression of Kashmiri art, literature, and music as key examples of this cultural war.
Mushaal condemned the genocidal policies of the Indian government, vowing that the Modi-led Hindutva regime would not succeed in its efforts to erase Kashmiri identity.
Mushaal also celebrated Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity, urging citizens to view diversity not as a problem, but as a source of strength and unity. She highlighted that Pakistan’s pluralistic society, as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was a testament to the country’s inclusive spirit.
Mushaal stressed that culture is a powerful tool for preserving identity and resisting oppression, citing Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage as a prime example of resilience. She called for the international community to recognize the implications of India’s cultural war against Kashmir and support efforts to safeguard its cultural integrity.
