Bangladesh demands extradition of Hasina Wajid from India
Dhaka: The interim government of Bangladesh has formally demanded the extradition of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid, who fled to India after resigning on August 5.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Interim Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus announced the decision in a national address marking 100 days of his government.
Hasina Wajid stepped down following widespread student protests against a controversial quota system.
Yunus pledged justice for the killings during the unrest, which Bangladeshi media report claimed over 1,500 lives, including students.
The interim government has vowed accountability for all casualties during the turmoil.
