Iltija Mufti slams Hindutva, calls it a ‘disease’ defaming Hinduism
Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter, Iltija Mufti, has described Hindutva as a “disease” tarnishing the essence of Hinduism while promoting lynching and persecution of minorities, especially Muslims.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters in Jammu, Iltija said that the BJP is exploiting Hindutva to consolidate its vote bank.
“Hindutva is a disease that sullies the name of Hinduism. It has led to lynching and violence against minorities,” Iltija wrote on social media, sharing a video of a Muslim man being beaten for refusing to chant “Jai Shri Ram.”
“Hinduism is about secularism, love, and compassion, while Hindutva spreads hatred and aims to establish Hindu supremacy,” she said, adding that slogans like “Jai Shri Ram” are now misused during acts of mob violence.
She also criticized the BJP’s policies against Rohingya refugees and Kashmiri Pandits. “The BJP politicizes the Rohingya issue while neglecting the poor living conditions of Kashmiri Pandits in Jagti township,” she said.
BJP leader Ravinder Raina demanded an apology, accusing Iltija of using derogatory language.
