APHC-AJK to hold rally in Muzaffarabad on Self-Determination day
Muzaffarabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter will organize a protest rally in Muzaffarabad on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day on January 5th, 2025.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the organizing committee, led by APHC-AJK leaders Advocate Pervez Ahmed Shah, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Mushtaq Islam, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Zahid Ashraf, and Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, is holding meetings with various political parties to finalize arrangements. The rally will be led by APHC-AJK Convenor Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other prominent Kashmiri leaders.
The organizing committee has met with Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Opposition Leader Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, and refugee leaders including Gohar Ahmed Kashmiri, Raja Muhammad Arif Khan, Liberation Cell Secretary Raja Muhammad Aslam, and Services Secretary Zafar Mehmood Khan, inviting them to join the rally on January 5th.
Hurriyat leaders reiterated that the ongoing resistance against Indian oppression in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir continues with full strength. The Hurriyat delegation further stated that during the rally, they will demand the United Nations Security Council to ensure a free, fair, and impartial plebiscite for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, in accordance with its resolutions. They also called for a united voice from the entire state to demand a referendum against the Indian military occupation and state-sponsored terrorism.
Furthermore, Hurriyat leaders urged Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar and Opposition Leader Khawaja Farooq Ahmed to present a unanimous resolution in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly on January 2nd, calling for the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir’s right to self-determination.
