Modi regime prioritizing police posts instead of schools in Muslim-majority areas: Asaduddin Owaisi
New Delhi: Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), has stated that the BJP government is prioritizing police posts instead of building schools, colleges, and hospitals or providing public services in Muslim-majority areas across India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Owaisi, in a statement on X, stated that a police station is being constructed on Wakf land directly opposite the historic Shahi Jamia Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. He also shared documents of the land, raising serious objections to the police station’s construction.
He said that the local administration is carrying out construction work at a fast pace, with 20 masons and 25 workers on-site, who have erected 10-foot-high walls in just a few days. He pointed out that the land on which the police post is being built is Wakf No. 139, Moradabad, as per the records.
Terming the construction illegal, Owaisi cited archaeological laws prohibiting construction near protected monuments.. The Shahi Jamia Masjid in Sambhal is a protected monument under the archaeological department.
Owaisi also expressed concerns about the situation in Sambhal, holding Yogi Adityanath and Narendra Modi responsible for it. He stated that the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government is showing no respect for the law and called their actions sectarian in nature.
Meanwhile, bulldozer action continued in Sambhal on Tuesday, with six houses demolished under the pretext of illegal encroachments.
