Dalit youth brutally beaten in Rajasthan over theft allegation

Barmer, Rajasthan: A Dalit youth, Shrawan Kumar Meghwal, was tied upside down to a tree and mercilessly beaten by upper caste Hindus in Gudamalani town of Barmer district, Rajasthan, over accusations of motorcycle theft.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a video of the 25-year-old victim pleading for mercy has sparked outrage on social media.

Lok Sabha MP Chandra Shekhar Azad condemned the incident, calling it a stark reminder of the continued atrocities faced by Dalits in India, despite political promises of justice and equality.
