Bihar mosque imam brutally tortured by police officials

Madhubani: A shocking case of police brutality has surfaced in Bihar’s Madhubani district, where Maulana Feroz, an imam and madrassa teacher, has been subjected to severe physical and verbal abuse by police at Beni Patti police station.

In a viral video, Maulana Feroz said he was beaten by the DSP and a constable, mocked for his religious identity, and denied water. “They grabbed my beard while assaulting me and told me to pray to Allah for protection,” he recounted.

The incident has sparked outrage in Madhubani and Darbhanga. Poet Danish Kamal Sargam criticized political leaders for their silence, demanding justice.

Rights activists warn that if proven true, this case reflects a dangerous pattern of police misconduct and religious discrimination in India.
