Asaduddin Owaisi demands action over Kathua custodial killing

New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly condemned the custodial killing of civilian Makhan Din in Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Owaisi, in a post on X, stated, “In Jammu’s Kathua, a man was tortured by Indian police to such an extent that he died. Since IIOJK was made a Union Territory, it’s the responsibility of the Modi government to prevent such brazen abuse of power.”

He demanded the immediate suspension of the accused officers and their superiors, along with criminal proceedings under Article 311.

Pertinently, on Thursday, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Indian police arrested Makhan Din on baseless allegation of supporting pro-freedom activists and later tortured him to death in custody in Billawar area of Kathua.
