BJP’s policies in Maharashtra contributing to rise in farmer suicides: Sanjay Raut

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has sharply criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra, stating that the saffron party’s governance has led to a dire situation for the state’s farmers, unemployed youth and women.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Raut’s remarks were made in response to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ recent comments about removing the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Raut said that the BJP was causing distress and hardship in Maharashtra, contributing to a rise in farmer suicides and widespread suffering. “It’s been 400 years since Aurangzeb was buried. Forget him. Are farmers in Maharashtra committing suicide due to Aurangzeb? They are doing it because of you,” Raut said.

He added that the BJP’s failure to address the real issues plaguing the state had contributed to the rise in farmer suicides and the overall sense of despair among the people.

“The situation in Maharashtra is worse than ever under the BJP’s rule. Farmers, the unemployed, and women are being driven to take their own lives due to the government’s policies,” he said.

He said that the BJP, as the leading party in the Mahayuti coalition, has failed to address the real issues impacting the people of Maharashtra.
