Indian police detain two Muslims over WhatsApp status with cow image in UP

Lucknow : Indian police have detained two Muslim men after a WhatsApp status related to Eid-ul-Adha sacrificial animals in the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Uttar Pradesh State.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police detained two Muslims after a WhatsApp status which also included the image of a cow in the Laloli police station area of Fatehpur district of the state.
According to officials, the two Muslims, identified as Ghufran and Zainul Abideen, had allegedly uploaded a WhatsApp status inviting people to participate in sacrificial arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha.
The post reportedly appealed to people to “take part in sacrifice for Rs 3,200” and included the image of a cow, after which the Hindutva organisations lodged a complaint against them.
