Kashmiris feel helplessness everyday in IOJK: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq
Srinagar: Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has highlighted the helplessness common Kashmiris face every day in different forms in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a post on X wrote “Power teaches little, powerlessness teaches more! Today the CM sahab @omarabdullah tasted the bitter medicine of authoritarian high-handedness and subsequent helplessness that common Kashmiris face every day in different forms, as all agency and space is denied to them.”
He was reacting after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was manhandled by Indian police during his visit to the Mazar-e-Shuhada in Srinagar, today.
He added, “Hoping this experience shifts his focus to what is the first priority of every people—upholding their dignity, and their fundamental rights, and work sincerely towards its restoration.
Omar Abdullah had earlier shared a video of the same incident, showing him being stopped and blocked by security forces on his way to the shrine, where he went to offer prayers for July 13 martyrs.
He stated that despite being the Chief Minister, he was prevented from visiting the graveyard and forcibly denied passage for a second day.
