Widespread flooding in Pakistani villages as India unleashes water aggression
Thousands of acres of farmland submerged in Sutlej release

Lahore: In a fresh act of water aggression, India has released a massive flow of water into the Sutlej River, causing widespread flooding in Kasur’s Ganda Singh Wala area, submerging villages and destroying thousands of acres of farmland.
According to Kashmir Media Service, floodwaters have also spread to Burewala, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur, inundating cotton, rice and sesame fields while hundreds of villages have been cut off due to breaches in rural roads. Panic-stricken families have been forced to abandon ancestral homes, carrying whatever belongings they could to safer ground.
The Flood Forecasting Division in Lahore confirmed a medium flood at Head Sulemanki, while moderate flooding was also reported in the Indus River at Guddu and Sukkur barrages. Rescue operations are underway to shift villagers and their livestock to safety.
Observers said India’s sudden release of water is aimed at aggravating the plight of Pakistan’s farming communities in violation of the Indus Waters Treaty, exposing New Delhi’s hostile designs against its neighbour.
