India’s oppressive tactics can’t break Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat has asserted that India’s tactics of killings, arbitrary detentions, and other forms of oppression cannot crush the Kashmiris’ unwavering spirit of freedom. Instead, the pro-freedom party urged New Delhi to abandon its policy of force and create a conducive environment for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson Ahmed Yasin, in a statement issued in Srinagar, emphasized that conflicts and disputes cannot be resolved through war, violence and oppression. He urged India to embrace the path of peace and justice, and grant Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination.

Yasin further stated that imprisoning the youth and political leadership of a nation and subjecting them to torture cannot break their resolve. He pointed out that despite years of imprisonment, India could not diminish the spirits of Syed Ali Gilani and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, and will never succeed in compelling leaders like Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Yasin Malik, Asiya Andrabi, Amir Hamza, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Miraj-ud-Din Kalwal, Dr. Qasim Faktoo, and other incarderated leaders to submit.

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat condemned in the strongest terms India’s brutal treatment of detained Kashmiris and called on international human rights organizations to take urgent notice of these violations.
