IIOJK: Indian forces arrest Kashmiri youth during raid in Kulgam
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian forces arrested a Kashmiri youth during a raid in Kulgam district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mohammad Yusuf Kataria was detained on false allegations of providing logistical support to individuals involved in the Pahalgam false flag operation in April. He has been sent to police custody for 14 days.
Observers expressed serious concern over the ongoing arrests and intimidation of Kashmiri youths following the Pahalgam incident. They said the Indian government has made multiple contradictory claims to tarnish Pakistan’s image and discredit Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for freedom.
They further noted that Mohammad Yusuf’s arrest appears part of a deliberate strategy to divert attention from India’s security failures in Pahalgam and to carry out retaliatory actions against the Kashmiri population. The Pahalgam operation is allegedly being exploited for political purposes to bolster the occupying administration led by New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor and Indian forces while weakening Kashmir’s elected government.
The situation in IIOJK remains tense, and rights groups have called for independent investigations into such arrests and the broader conduct of Indian forces in the occupied territory, where Indian army, paramilitary and police along with agencies are deployed in massive numbers.
