President Trump highlights Pakistan-India ceasefire again in UNGA address
New York: US President Donald Trump, in his address to the United Nations General Assembly, once again referenced the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Trump stated that he had helped halt seven wars worldwide, including the Pakistan-India conflict, through direct talks with the leaders of the countries involved, without any role played by the United Nations. He added that the United States is regaining respect globally while effectively managing its domestic issues.
Trump questioned the purpose of the UN, criticizing it for failing to operate at its full potential. He also called for a ceasefire in Gaza, urging Hamas to release hostages to enable peace.
The US President further criticized Russia, China, India, and Europe, claiming that buying energy from Russia is fueling the war in Ukraine. He warned that heavy tariffs would be imposed if Russia did not agree to a peace settlement. Trump also asserted that many believe he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
