Three Indian army personnel injured in Assam attack

Tinsukia: Three Indian Army personnel were injured in an attack in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled disturbed Assam state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the attackers opened fire at an Indian Army camp in the Kakopathar area of Tinsukia district today.
A Defence spokesperson said the attackers fired from a moving vehicle at the Kakopathar company location. Indian troops immediately retaliated, prompting the assailants to flee the scene after “carrying out speculative firing using automatic weapons.”
Indian forces, including Army and local police, have launched a search operation in the area. The attack site lies close to the interstate boundary between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Officials later recovered a truck suspected to have been used by the attackers, abandoned in the Tengapani area near the Arunachal Pradesh border.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, Indian security agencies suspect the involvement of the United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent) [ULFA (I)], which has been linked to previous assaults in Upper Assam.
Authorities have heightened security measures in and around Kakopathar, with additional patrols deployed along key routes to prevent further incidents.
