Sindh leaders, police join Kashmir solidarity events, rallies in Karachi

Karachi: In connection with Kashmir Black Day, observed every year on October 27, solidarity rallies and events were held across Karachi to denounce India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and express unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a large Solidarity Walk was organized in the city, starting from the People’s Secretariat and concluding at the VIP Gate of Mazar-e-Quaid. The rally was led by Sindh Minister for Local Government and HTP Department, Syed Nasir Ahmad Shah along with APHC leader Sheikh Abdul Mateen, provincial ministers, secretaries, prominent citizens and local political leaders. It was attended by a large number o civil society members and citizens.
The participants carried banners and placards inscribed with pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, condemning the continued military occupation of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The speakers reaffirmed their resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for freedom from Indian tyranny.
Addressing the rally, Syed Nasir Ahmad Shah said October 27 would always be remembered as the darkest day in the history of South Asia when India forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir in 1947. He emphasized that peace in the region would remain elusive without resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
In a separate event, a Kashmir Black Day programme was organized by Sindh Police at Shaharyar Mazari Quaid, where senior officials, social figures, and members of the public participated. The programme paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and highlighted Pakistan’s consistent diplomatic and moral support for their cause.
Speakers at the police-organized event lauded the role of the Sindh Police in organizing such a meaningful gathering to express solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK. They said the observance of the day across Pakistan reflected the unity of purpose among all segments of society in supporting the Kashmir cause.
Participants reaffirmed their collective resolve to continue raising their voices for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and to expose Indian human rights violations in the occupied territory at all international forums.
On this solemn occasion, the people of Karachi once again paid rich tribute to the unwavering courage and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, reiterating their pledge to stand by them until they achieve their inalienable right to freedom.
