Turkiye rejects Indian media’s ‘terror link’ allegations as malicious campaign

Ankara: The Republic of Turkiye has strongly rejected reports published in certain Indian media outlets linking it to terrorism, calling them part of a malicious disinformation campaign aimed at undermining Ankara’s relations with New Delhi.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the statement was issued by the Republic of Turkiye Directorate of Communications’ Center for Countering Disinformation through its official account on X. It said that the allegations published by some Indian media houses falsely claimed that Turkiye was providing “logistical, diplomatic, and financial support” to terrorist groups in India.

“These deliberate reports are part of a malicious disinformation campaign designed to damage bilateral relations between the two countries,” the statement said.

The Directorate reaffirmed that Turkiye “firmly rejects all acts of terrorism, regardless of where or by whom they are committed,” emphasizing that the country has been at the forefront of global counter-terrorism efforts in cooperation with the international community.

Highlighting its contributions to international security, it said Turkiye “actively contributes to the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and plays an effective role in shaping NATO’s counter-terrorism policies.”

Rejecting Indian media allegations of “radicalisation activities” linked to Turkiye, the statement asserted that such claims are “purely disinformative and lack any factual basis.” It said these unfounded reports were “aimed at undermining Turkiye’s contributions to international peace, security, and stability.”

“The public is kindly advised not to give credence to such manipulative reports,” it added.
