Indian army soldier dies of bullet injury in Poonch
Jammu: An Indian Army soldier died after sustaining a bullet injury in Mendhar Sector of Poonch district, officials said.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the officials identified the deceased as Agniveer Deepak Singh.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Police Station Mendhar, the officials added.
They said that police was investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal injury and are examining whether it was a case of suicide or an accidental discharge of a service weapon.
“A detailed inquiry has been initiated, and further information will be shared once the investigation progresses,” they said.
